Should you FIRE YOUR BOSS?

In the United States, the average employee spends 40% of their total living time at a JOB and more than 60% are unhappy. That is A LOT of time especially when most of us would prefer to spend time with family, friends and loved ones.

Do you fall in the “unhappy” category but aren’t sure if you can make it on your own?

I get it because I was in the same spot. I was burned out at my corporate job but I was scared to make the leap from what I believed was secure to my own gig.

In this episode, I help you identify if you should be own your boss or if you should stay at your JOB.

Here is what I’ve learned and what you need to know to make it BIG as an ENTREPRENEUR.

Consistency is KEY

You’re the employee that puts in the work day after day. Consistency is your middle name so much so your boss relies on you because you are reliable!

LIFELONG LEARNER

Leaders are learners and understand that we’re on a journey to become a better version of ourself.

GIVE ME ALL THE FEEDBACK

You’re the team member that openly solicits feedback because you understand that thru feedback you will up your game.

DEBRIEF IS MY MIDDLE NAME

Every project provides you with an opportunity to grow even the projects that didn’t go as planned, are below your pay grade and weren’t enjoyable.

PASSIONATE

You’re the person that loves life, loves work, loves your family.

DIRECT YOUR OWN LEARNING

Forget waiting for somebody to spoon feed you, you’re comfortable taking control of your personal learning and setting yourself up for success by directing your learning.

HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE

You’re the team member that is action oriented and gets things done.

STRONG WILLED AND COMPETITIVE

These traits might provide challenges for you in other areas but in the entrepreneur space, these traits help you

NETWORKED

You value people and understand the importance of relationships.

Surprised? I know I was. I thought you needed degrees behind your name or needed to be the smartest person in the room. That is NOT what I’ve experienced. If you have GRIT and drive you can make your dreams of working for yourself a reality. It takes work but you’re already working for somebody else so why not do it for yourself?

The reality is that entrepreneurship isn’t for everyone but for those that it does make sense the rewards far outweigh the risks.

If you have the bug to experience freedom and still generate income, entrepreneurship can lead to the life of your dreams like it did for me. If you long to set your own schedule, call the shots and answer to yourself review this list and identify which traits you have.

If you have a handful of these traits, you have what it takes.

You might be scared. You might feel like it is more secure to work for somebody else but it’s not. I’m here to encourage you. I’m here to let you know it is okay to feel the fear and do it anyway.
